What is Alzheimer's Disease?

There are nearly 1 million Canadians who suffer from a form of dementia right now. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia which affects thinking, behaviour, and memory. Severe cases can hinder a person's ability to perform daily tasks and further progress is fatal. 60-80% of dementia cases are Alzheimer's cases, and it is typically diagnosed in individuals over the age of 65. Alzheimer’s disease has no cure. A combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors is believed to contribute to its development, meaning that individuals can take preventative measures to lower their risk of developing the disease later in life.

Beware of Alzheimer's Disease and protect your family and friends.
